Zhuhai Grand Theater

The Zhuhai Grand Theater is located on Yeli Island, Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai. It is one of the city’s key cultural initiatives and a major cultural landmark. The architectural concept draws inspiration from the sea, featuring a double-shell structure designed in the form of ‘Sun and Moon Shells’, evoking the artistic imagery of ‘Pearls born from shells, and shells born from the sea’. The building comprises a smaller shell standing 60 metres tall and a larger shell at 90 metres, housing a 1550-seat Opera Hall and a 550-seat Concert Hall.

The Zhuhai Grand Theater has been operated by the professional team of the Beijing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. Since its opening in 2017, nearly 500 performing troupes from China and overseas have staged more than 1,500 performances here.
