Hong Kong Week Other Cultural Exchange Programme About Us

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Hong Kong Week is a major cultural exchange extravaganza that showcases Hong Kong’s creative excellence and promotes artistic collaboration across regions.

The inaugural edition, “Festival Hong Kong 2019 – A Cultural Extravaganza@Shanghai” was held from 1 to 23 November 2019. Subsequent editions, “Hong Kong Week 2021@Guangzhou” and “Hong Kong Week 2022@Wuhan, Hubei” were held in a hybrid mode (in-venue and online) from 17 April to 5 June 2021 and from 15 February to 5 March 2023 respectively due to pandemic. Hong Kong Week 2023@Bangkok, held from 21 October to 12 November 2023, marked the festival’s first overseas edition, bringing Hong Kong’s artistic achievements to international audiences.

Across the four editions, Hong Kong Week featured a total of 51 programmes, comprising 191 live events and 40 online presentations. The festival attracted approximately 1.3 million participants and 2.7 million online viewers. This successful model has played a key role in consolidating Hong Kong’s position as an East-meets-West Centre for International Cultural Exchange, while laying a solid foundation for Hong Kong Week to expand its reach on the global stage.

In 2025, the festival arrives in Seoul, offering a vibrant showcase of Hong Kong’s dynamic arts scene. Kicking off on 26 September, the festival features 14 programmes with approximately 65 performances and activities, spanning dance, music, film, Chinese painting, comic creations, fashion design and a variety of fringe activities, connecting creative talents from Hong Kong and Seoul.
