Dongguan

Situated on the eastern bank of the Pearl River Delta, Dongguan derives its name from its location and its abundance of a special type of grass ‘Guan’. This Lingnan city has nurtured a rich culture of Cantonese Opera. It is dedicated to preserving and passing on Lingnan culture and has several national intangible cultural heritage. Since 2007, Dongguan has hosted ten editions of musical festival, striving to become the ‘City of Musical’.
